Tooth-Colored Fillings

For small cavities and minor injuries, we can place a filling. Instead of gold or some type of metal amalgam, however, Dr. Ostrand uses a special material known as composite resin. Not only can its color be altered to match your teeth as closely as possible, but it can be molded into a desired shape. In other words, the material can be made to blend in with the teeth so well that many a casual observer won’t even realize it’s there.

Dental Crowns

Not all forms of dental damage can be corrected with just a filling. Sometimes the damage is so severe the tooth ends up weakening and might even split apart in the future. Placing a tooth-shaped “cap” called a dental crown over the damaged area will protect it and prevent further injury. Like fillings, crowns have been made from many different materials over the years, but nowadays they can be made to look as natural as possible inside your mouth.

Worn Dentition Correction

Teeth that become extremely worn down tend to be sensitive and make it difficult to chew. Worse yet, if the posterior teeth wear down, the front teeth are likely to follow suit. Using an intraoral camera, we can show you exactly where the enamel has become worn in your mouth. After that, we’ll start planning treatment to reverse the damage done to the entire arch with an appropriate number of crowns and porcelain veneers as well as a composite resin.
